Jobs   JOB TITLE SUBSEA ENGINEER LOCATION Rio de Janeiro - Macaé SALARY Exellent COMPANY Noble Drilling NATIONALITY High Level Multinational     The Subsea Engineer has responsibility for installation, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain andrepair of the BOP stack, control and support systems, hydraulic and mechanicalcomponents, and component interface/support systems as per Noble policies & procedures.Rig downtime due to unplanned equipment failure to be kept to a minimum. Works closelywith the Electronics Technician (ET) to ensure subsea control system operation ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:_ Only execute documented and approved modifications on subsea / surface equipment_ Carry out major repairs, troubleshooting etc. on subsea / surface equipment_ Maintenance schedules are completed within their time scale, reducing backlog_ Ensure replacement parts are kept to an optimum level, spot check inventory levels_ Maintenance System used & improved continuously; experience is fed back into system_ Administrative tasks are completed timely and accurately_ Work as a team member with other discipline specialists e.g. ET_ Maintain good two-way communication with supervisor, operations / other crews_ Plan and prepare upcoming work scopes into detail, ensuring time effective operations_ Install subsea equipment in a time efficient manner during drilling operations_ Pro-actively develop, train and mentor subordinates / newly appointed team members_ Equipment failure is investigated and solutions proposed to prevent recurrence_ Ensure adequate on site supervision and assistance for non-routine tasks / operations_ Only OEM tools and parts are used and installed_ Familiarization with equipment manuals and regulations_ Pro-active in liaison with vendors and OEM’s ensuring support contact(s) as required_ Execute BOP maintenance as per BOP Turnaround PlanApply rig specific Work Instructions and generate feedback to improve safety / efficiency_ Organize, brief, and directly control assistants for pulling the BOP stack_ Administrate wet days, install and maintain the riser itself_ Assist drill crews in maintaining the (crown mounted) compensator_ Recommend action to Rig Manager on safest & most efficient means of solving problems_ Assist ET with repair and maintenance of electronic controls / systems_ Assist the RMS / maintenance crew in mechanical auxiliary system repair as necessary_ Cut & slip tensioner wires and administrate wire cycles_ Perform calculations, with the Rig Manager, such as fluids, total weights of BOP & riserstring before landing, nitrogen pre-charge in accumulator bottles, water depths and itsimpact on equipment_ Install, test, maintain and repair all components and parts of the subsea BOP stack andlower marine riser package, riser joints, telescopic joint, diverter, tensioners, surface unithigh pressure hydraulics, including running, retrieving, and testing tools and otherassociated equipment_ Witness all pressure, latch-up and weight tests on subsea safety and/or completionequipment to ensure all evolutions are performed safely and within the limitations of theequipment_ Performs or witnesses measurements of operator provided subsea equipment, prior torunning to ensure compatibility with equipment it may be connected to_ Maintains the internal and external preservation, including lubrication of all subseaequipment in storage and/or not in use_ Maintain appropriate system knowledge and reference material to perform all aspects ofmaintenance, repair, and upkeep on all subsea systems and support systems_ Maintain an adequate knowledge level of overall drilling operations, to assemble anddisassemble all inter-related equipment involved with subsea and surface supportsystems_ In cooperation with rig management keep records of all maintenance accomplished_ Maintain an up-to-date standardized filing system on all subsea and surface equipmentwithin his responsibility, including, but not limited to, blueprints, drawings, dimensions,specifications, catalogs, operating manuals, spare parts catalogs, pertinentmeasurements of subsea equipment in all assembled and/or operating positions, testresults, and/or testing log book_ Supervise personnel assigned to work on BOP maintenance, and activities in the moonpool in general, however, critical operations warrant the presence of the Rig Manager orthe Assistant Manager, who shall be in charge and direct the activities while present   [ Back ]
